For my final week of training, I went all out. I paced myself to begin so I would be ready for the final day, where I was going to push myself to my limit. TO start I continued running until I was too tired to continue before walking a short rest period, and I found that even over a few days I saw improvement in how long I could run.

At the end of the week, I went all out to make sure I finished my inquiry project with a bang. I got ready for my final run by ensuring I was wearing an outfit that made running easier and didn’t limit my movements at all, and I made sure I had plenty of water before my run, as well as water available for me as soon as I finished, since I wasn’t able to bring any on my run. I double-checked the settings on my smart watch, and that it was tracking my route and heart rate, before I set off. For this run, I wasn’t worried about progress. I wanted to see it, not set it up for the future. For this run, I didn’t want to catch myself walking. I started the run at a brisk jog because that’s all running really is. I only wanted to allow myself 2 walking periods over this entire journey, and I wanted to pace myself to ensure that would happen.

For the most part, I completed my goal. There was one part of the run where I had to stop to cross the road, and I didn’t count that as a walking period, and another time I slowed my jog into something a little faster than a speed walk, but at the end of the run, I knew I had completed my goal. It wasn’t fancy or in a regulated race, but I am extremely happy with the progress I have made over the last 10 weeks. I feel content in my progress and my mental health at this time.
